Welcome to Abby's Dog Training Classes
Learn together in a supportive setting
Abby’s Dog Training School offers practical, reward-based classes for dogs and their people in Bury. The aim is to help you understand your dog, build useful skills and enjoy learning together.
Classes are kept small so you can get guidance and support. Check the current schedule for upcoming dates and availability.
Puppy classes
Help your puppy build confidence and learn useful foundations in a supportive class. We can work on skills such as recall, loose lead walking, focus, settling and polite interactions, alongside common puppy challenges.
Puppy classes are for puppies under 24 weeks old. Please check the current booking information for vaccination and suitability requirements.
Adult beginner classes
A welcoming place to start training with an older puppy or adult dog. We’ll practise everyday skills and help you make them useful beyond the training space.
Life Skills classes
Follow-on training to keep learning and build skills for everyday life. Sessions may include recall, loose lead walking, settling, tricks, scent activities and other enrichment.
Reactivity support
Dogs who find other dogs, people or busy settings difficult may need a different setup from a standard group class. I offer dedicated reactivity support, including tailored training and carefully planned sessions.
Please contact me before booking if your dog is nervous or reactive. We can discuss what they find difficult and choose a suitable option together.
Scurry Dog
Scurry Dog is a series of fun, structured games inspired by activities dogs enjoy, including retrieving, searching and navigating simple challenges. It can give energetic dogs an outlet, build teamwork and add variety to your training.
It’s open to all sorts of dogs, not just traditional gundog breeds. If your dog needs extra space or support, ask me about 1:1 Scurry Dog sessions.
Hoopers
Hoopers is a low-impact dog sport where dogs learn to move through hoops, barrels and tunnels with their handler’s guidance. It’s a fun way to practise focus, confidence and teamwork.
Are classes right for my dog?
Different classes suit different dogs. Standard classes may not be the best starting point for a dog who is very worried or reactive around other dogs or people. Please get in touch before booking if you’re unsure. I’ll help you choose a suitable option.

Yes. Adult classes are for dogs aged six months and over we even have a 10 year old pup enjoying classes! Get in touch if you’re unsure which class is the best fit.
It depends on what your dog finds difficult and which class you’re considering. We do offer a reactive dog specific class to help with nervous or reactivity dogs. Please contact me before booking so we can discuss their needs and choose a suitable option.
No. Scurry Dog is open to dogs of all breeds. The games offer fun ways to use skills such as retrieving, searching and problem-solving.
Once booked information will be in the week running up to class. In general, bring your dog’s usual walking equipment and some rewards they enjoy.
