At Abby's Animal Services,  we provide professional and reliable dog training services in the Bury, Bolton, Darwen and Rawtenstall areas. We offer flexible scheduling options and affordable pricing to meet your needs. We are fully insured,  DBS checked and trained in canine first aid and CPR. 

Abby is a qualified IMDT dog trainer and puppy instructor. Completing over 20 courses with the IMDT including a Level 3 in Learning, Motivation and Reinforcement as well as completing course with 'The Dog Trainer School' and the first intake of world renowned dog trainer Nanci Creedons 'Professional Dog Reactivity Specialist Online Programme'. Plus many more courses booked for 2026! Abby proudly won highly commended dog trainer/ behaviourist of the year at the Animal Star Awards!

Our dog training approach is based on the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers ethics of positive reinforcement backed up by scientific evidence, to create a happy and trustful bond between dog and owner. Whether you are thinking of bringing home a puppy, rescuing an older dog or want to strengthen the bond and sharpen up on your dogs skills, we can tailor 1-1 training plans to suit you and your dogs needs or attend one of our group classes.

Abbys Animal Services are now offering a new service, our ‘Pre-puppy (or rescue!) package’ to help get you ready, prepared – and confident!

Our ‘Pre puppy package’  is customisable to you but can includes 2 x 1 hour pre-puppy arrival chat with Abby, a qualified IMDT trainer and puppy instructor, to discuss any concerns you may be having.

Examples of things covered:

• Breed considerations and things to consider and how it may affect you
• how a puppy will fit into your life
• getting ready to bring your puppy home
• creating family rules to make things consistent for your puppy
• creating a calm atmosphere for your puppy
• preparing for the first night with your puppy
• Equipment to purchase and what not to buy
• How to make the crate (if you’d like to use one) a safe space for your puppy
• Safety considerations for the garden
• First visits to the vet and groomers
• Appropriate toys and games to play
• Advice to prevent nipping and chewing
• Advice on housetraining

Additional support can be added to the package when researching and sourcing breeders including;

• What questions to ask? 
• Joining the future puppy owners to view prospective litters and breeders
• Collecting the puppy or rescue to ensure all goes as smoothly as possible
   

Also includes 8, 1 hour 1-2-1 training sessions, twice a week at a suitable time for you.
