About Abby's Animal Services
Farming Background
Growing up on a busy working farm, surrounded by cows, sheep horses, dogs and cats meant being outdoors was not only something I loved doing but also a necessity!
Equine Experience
I learnt lots growing up on the farm about horses and how to handle them, breeding, showing and riding shire horses.
This encouraged me to go to University to study Equine Business Management where I also worked on a thoroughbred stud yard handling foals and race horses.
More Four-Legged Friends
Once I received my degree, I started working at a dog daycare and continued my learning with the Institute of Modern Dog Training (IMDT).
This helped me to understand canine body language and behaviour before I took the leap and started Abby's Animal Services. Since completing Level 3 qualifications in Learning, Motivation and Reinforcement and Principles in Dog Training and Behaviour, Abby has gone on to complete more courses such as the IMDT "Easy Peasy Puppy Squeeze" course and "Professional Dog Reactivity Specialist Programme" by Nanci Creedon
What's Next?
To start, I began walking dogs and caring for horses when their owners had gone away which required a great deal of trust from them and lead to lots of repeat business from happy clients.
I then created our secure dog field which I'm continually improving and looking to expand. I am continuing to increase my knowledge of dog training and recently gained my level 3 accreditation with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers. Next, my goal is to qualify as a dog behaviourist at some point in my future career.
